Use it safely: start on the lowest setting and use it for about 15–20 minutes at a time. Never sleep with a heating pad switched on (use the auto-off if it has one), never sit or lie on top of it, and always keep a layer of cloth between the pad and your skin. Do not use it on numb skin, open wounds or swelling, and stop if the skin turns red or sore.
