Stiff knees are one of the most common winter complaints among elderly parents in Pakistan — especially in the morning, and after long prayers or sitting on the floor. Warmth can make knees feel looser and more comfortable.
Three ways to warm the knees
| Type | Best for | Approx. price |
|---|---|---|
| Wool knee warmers | All-day warmth under clothes, no electricity | Rs 450 a pair |
| Heated knee wrap | Electric warmth, 3 levels, Type-C | Rs 2,450 |
| Cordless knee massager | Heat plus vibration, 30 min per charge | Rs 3,900 |
How to use a heated knee wrap
- Wrap around the knee over thin clothing.
- Low heat, 15–20 minutes.
- Gently bend and straighten the knee afterwards.
When heat is not right
If the knee is swollen, red or hot, or you hurt it recently, do not use heat — a cold pack is usually used first, and a doctor should check it. See heat or ice.
See a doctor for
- Pain after a fall, accident or sports injury.
- Swelling, redness or a joint that feels hot.
- Numbness, tingling or weakness in the arms or legs.
- Fever, unexplained weight loss, or pain that wakes you at night.
- Pain that is very strong, new, or not easing after a few days.
